The concept of multiple endings in games isn’t new. Nor is giving players a New Game Plus mode to play through after they’ve completed the main game. However, there is something special about the way that Silent Hill has used both these features in the past. Just like previous games in the series, Silent Hill f will feature multiple endings – including one focused on aliens and UFOs.

During a press event in Tokyo, publisher Konami and developer NeoBards Entertainment explained that Silent Hill f would feature five different endings, but only one would be available to players in their first playthrough. Afterward, they can play the Silent Hill f again, making different choices and exploring different areas to unlock one of the other endings. Considering how many changes the developers have made for Silent Hill f, it is good to know that some things are staying the same in the highly anticipated sequel.

Silent Hill f writer Ryukishio07 explained that the game’s creators wanted there to be a set story that players all experience when they first play the game before letting them unlock some of the other, more bizarre endings that they’ve created. However, the studio hasn’t said which endings are good and bad, choosing instead to give players the chance to decide that for themselves. The New Game Plus mode is intended to help make that easier to do, giving players new areas to explore and changing cinematics slightly depending on what choices they made earlier in the game.

Silent Hill f is out September 25, 2025.
