Four decades of iconic video games deserve all the celebrations.
The legendary video game developer Rare is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Fans of Rare’s nostalgic games will soon have all their retro gaming dreams come true with iconic collaborations from Evercade and iam8bit.
Evercade is debuting the Rare Collection 1. It will include 12 specially curated titles, all on one physical cartridge. The titles include Atic Atac, Gunfright, Jetpac, Knight Lore, Lunar Jetman, Sabre Wulf, Underwurlde, Cobra Triangle, R.C. Pro-Am, Battletoads, Conker’s Pocket Tales, and Battletoads Arcade.
The collection will introduce Spectrum as another new system to Evercade devices. The games will all be compatible with all Evercade and HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket Devices.
To keep the celebration going, iam8bit is debuting the Rare 40th Anniversary Box Set 4xLP. The vinyl music collection features two and a half hours of famed music from Rare’s soundtracks. The four brightly colored records in the set exude nostalgia and background-gaming music galore. Plus, the sleeve will feature art that pays homage to many Rare games. From villains to oddballs to heroes, the artwork strategically gives gaming Easter eggs for fans of Rare.
Fans can preorder Rare Collection 1 starting September 30 for $29.99. It will officially release this November. Rare 40th Anniversary Box Set 4xLP costs $100 and is available to preorder now on iam8bit.com. It will officially release this Thursday.
