Heung-min Son has now played his final game for Tottenham Hotspur, and tributes have been pouring in from his teammates on social media.
Son leaves Tottenham Hotspur after ten years as a European champion and one of the biggest legends in Spurs history.
The forward played his final game in a Spurs shirt in front of a packed Seoul World Cup Stadium, and he was given a guard of honour by both Tottenham and Newcastle players as he walked off the pitch.
Tributes have been pouring in for Son from across the game, and now his teammates have said emotional goodbyes to the forward on social media.
Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pedro Porro lead Heung-min Son tributes
Romero wrote on Instagram: “Thanks for all the love today, Korean fans. And to you, my brother Heung-min Son, thanks for everything. You leave as the ultimate legend of this beautiful club, as you deserved it. You fell many times, but you kept trying and you made it in the end. Thanks for all the shared, the best always.”
Pedro Porro wrote: “My Captain. I can’t thank you enough for your help and guidance since I’ve been here. A big part of the reason why I am so happy here is because of your support, along with the memories we’ve made together in this squad.
“With what you mean to this club, you are the true example of a top professional, and you leave Tottenham not only as a legend, but also as a brother to all of us. Best of luck mi amigo.”
Rodrigo Bentancur wrote: “My captain, my brother, my friend and partner! Thank you for all these years shared. Everyone knows who you are as a player, but I’ll stick to who you are as an individual.
“With a giant heart that welcomed me with open arms from day one, and after so much struggle, we could raise a glass together in the club that saw you arrive as a child and sees you leave like a legend!
“Thanks for everything, brother, we’re going to miss you a lot in the club! Wishing you and your family the best on this new path! Hope to meet you soon, legend! I love you so much!!”

James Maddison pays ultimate tribute to Son
Amidst all the tributes for the 33-year-old, it is James Maddison who summarised the feelings of the Tottenham fans the best.
Ahead of the clash against Newcastle, Maddison declared, ‘Tottenham is Sonny and Sonny is Tottenham’, admitting that he will remain friends for life with the forward.
However, some of the shine was taken off the Son farewell on Sunday as Maddison was stretchered off with a serious knee injury in the dying moments of the 1-1 draw.
