Daniel Levy reveals what he thinks will happen once he leaves Tottenham Hotspur

Daniel Levy has spoken about what his biggest achievement is at Tottenham Hotspur and believes that he will get the credit for it once he leaves the club.

Levy is not popular among large sections of the Tottenham fan base, with many holding him responsible for the fact that the Lilywhites have won only two trophies in his 24-year tenure.

While some will give him credit for the way he runs the business side of the club and for the revenue streams he has built, not all supporters agree.

Many Spurs fans feel Levy has prioritised profits over glory, and the 63-year-old has now hit back at his critics, who he feels downplay one of his biggest achievements.

Daniel Levy is proud of building the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Spurs have been able to dine at the elite table financially since their move from White Hart Lane to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The move has improved the club’s revenue streams dramatically and is the main reason why Tottenham have been able to spend a net £700m on players over recent years.

Daniel Levy has now told Gary Neville on The Overlap: “The construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is my greatest achievement, and I’m not doing it again. This stadium is a symbol of Tottenham Hotspur on the global map.

“I think it’s fantastic for the local community, the employment that we’re creating because of this stadium. We’re very conscious that we want this area to improve economically, and the activity that this stadium brings is very significant for locals.”

Levy is sure he will get credit once he leaves Spurs

Rumours continue to circle about a potential Tottenham takeover, which may bring an end to Levy’s tenure as chairman.

The Spurs supremo believes that he will get the credit he deserves for safeguarding Tottenham’s long-term future when he is no longer at the club.

When asked if he feels he does not get the credit he deserves for building the stadium, Levy responded: “I think it’s one of those situations – when I’m not here, I’m sure I’ll get the credit.

“When you come here and look at this wonderful building [Tottenham Hotspur Stadium], and the fact that other clubs are now trying to copy what we’re doing, that should be a sign that maybe we did do something bold, and something right.”
