The force says four motorbikes were travelling together when the bike at the front, a grey Yamaha MT, was involved in a collision with a red Citroen C3 car travelling in the same direction.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

The road was shut for several hours afterwards while police carried out investigations.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who might have seen the vehicles shortly beforehand, to come forward.

People who were driving along the road and have dashcam footage that might assist enquiries are urged to submit it via the portal.

Witnesses should call the appeal line on 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting reference RY/AW/052/25.
