There were some doubts surrounding Nintendo Switch 2. The Kyoto-based company’s new hardware did not have an overly varied launch catalog, but gamers responded with their wallets. And the data doesn’t lie: the Japanese company’s new machine has sold 5.82 million units in just one month and three weeks, making it the most successful hardware launch in the history of video games.
Nintendo Switch 2 has been released in two different packs: the first includes the console without any games, while the second includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World. The latter has sold 5.63 million copies, many of them as part of the aforementioned pack.

Nintendo Switch 2 has embarked on a long journey; its life cycle has only just begun. Surpassing the previous console will be no easy feat, although it has certainly gotten off to a very good start. Meanwhile, the original has already surpassed 153.10 million units sold, making it the third best-selling machine, behind only the Nintendo DS (154.02 million) and PS2 (160 million).
