BenQ’s latest Zowie XL2540X+ 24.1-inch TN gaming monitor comes with 280Hz refresh rate, Adaptive-Sync, and esports-centric features. It updates the popular XL lineup with faster performance.

BenQ has officially unveiled the Zowie XL2540X+, a new 24.1-inch gaming monitor for esports and competitive gamers. Part of the XL series, the monitor sticks to a Full HD (1920×1080) resolution with a TN panel, but ups the refresh rate to 280Hz – an upgrade over the original 240Hz models in the same lineup.

The monitor uses a W-LED backlight and claims 320 nits of brightness, alongside 1000:1 static contrast. Color coverage is listed at 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3, although given the TN panel and 8-bit depth, color accuracy likely won’t be its strongest point. The actual appeal lies in speed: a fast TN panel, 0.279mm pixel pitch, 1ms response times, and support for Adaptive-Sync make it better suited for titles like CS2, Valorant, and other reflex-based shooters.

The XL2540X+ features several extras common to BenQ’s Zowie series: S Switch control puck, Black eQualizer, Color Vibrance, Auto Game Mode, and preset profiles by game title. It also comes bundled with a DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, S Switch, and Shielding hood.

Design-wise, it supports height adjustment (up to 155mm), swivel, and tilt, though it lacks pivot for vertical orientation. It has three HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2, and a 3.5mm audio-out. For mounting, it supports the standard 100x100mm VESA bracket and includes a removable stand with Kensington lock support.

Despite the push for speed and performance, this isn’t a panel meant for content creators or casual gamers looking for color depth or wide viewing angles. With a 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing range, the TN limitations are still present, but that’s normal for a monitor designed purely with latency and response in mind.

BenQ hasn’t announced global pricing or release details yet, but the monitor is already listed with a 2025 model year tag. It’s likely this will serve as a refresh for those still using the XL2540 or XL2546 models from the previous years.
