A well-known hotel that underwent a £500,000 overhaul earlier this year is back on the market for £2 million.
The three-star Grange Moor Hotel in Maidstone was recently rebranded The Apartell after Smart In Hotels Ltd stumped up an undisclosed sum.

Originally, the company planned to revive the St Michael’s Road venue as a traditional hotel and premier destination for weddings and events.
However, just recently, the Surrey-based firm, led by Mark Smith, has listed the property for sale.
The 38 en suite-bedroom hotel is now advertised on the website of chartered surveyors and estate agents Sibley Pares for £1,999,000.
Described as “smartly presented” and “ready for the next owner,” the hotel includes a restaurant and bar, several function rooms, including a suite capable of hosting up to 200 guests.
It also has an enclosed garden, children’s play area, and on-site parking. The building is also licensed for weddings.

Despite the recent investment, the hotel is currently closed to general trade.
The property was previously listed for £3.25 million in 2021, suggesting a significant drop in asking price.
In a related development, the hotel’s nearby satellite site, Grange Park, received planning permission in February to be converted into a 13-bedroom house of multiple occupation (HMO).
The plan was approved by the local council with seven votes in favour, one against, and three abstentions, despite objections from residents and ward councillors.
