Greggs is set to fill the last vacant unit of a town’s former Wilko.
The hardware shop in Swanley Square Shopping Centre shut after the company went into administration in August 2023.

More than 400 stores were closed across the country, and 12,500 jobs were lost.
The parent firm of The Range, CDS Superstores, bought the Wilko brand for £5million and many of its branch locations were also snapped up by Poundland and B&M.
After shutting in Swanley, the former Wilko unit was split into three units – with PureGym moving into part of the building in February.
In December, plans were submitted for Swanley Veterinary Clinic to occupy another unit, which were approved in April. This has not yet opened.
Now, it has been confirmed bakery chain Greggs will be filling the remaining unit.
A spokesperson for the company said: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in Swanley later this year.
“While we are unable to share any details at the moment, we will share further information nearer the time.”
Earlier this week the high street bakery chain revealed a slump in profits which it attributed to hot weather and caution among shoppers over their finances
The Newcastle-based business revealed that pre-tax profits fell by 14.3% to £63.5 million for the half-year to June 28, compared to a year earlier.

In the latest half-year, Greggs opened 87 new stores but also shut 56 sites, leaving it with an estate of 2,649 shops at the end of June.
It said it is on track for between 140 and 150 net new shop openings this year, with more store openings weighted to the second half of 2025.
In June, planes were revealed for the bakery chain’s first branch in Folkestone.
At present, the closest branches to Swanley are in Sidcup and Orpington.
