Capcom kicked off the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase with a surprise reveal: Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the third entry in its story-driven spin-off series. The game will launch in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC/Steam.
A new tale of Riders and monsters
Set in a world fractured by war and environmental collapse, the story follows the heir of Azuria, a young leader of the Rangers, who must investigate a mysterious phenomenon known as the “egg quartz”. The discovery of twin Rathalos, one traditional, one unknown, reignites an ancient prophecy tied to a civil war from two centuries ago.
Key story elements include:
- A growing conflict between the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil
- A mysterious crystallization plague threatening monster habitats
- A political alliance with Princess Eleanor of Vermeil, who joins the Rangers with her Monstie, Anjanath
- A journey into the forbidden northern lands of Meridian
