Tulsa Game Developers will host a free, all-ages video game night on Aug. 8 featuring locally made games, pizza, and interactive activities.
TULSA, Okla. –
The Tulsa Game Developers, a grassroots collective of local game creators, are teaming up with Tulsa Creative Engine to host a free video game showcase and community night.
The event is part of Frequency, an event series that highlights artists and builds community through creative expression.
What to Expect
Attendees will have the opportunity to play a variety of locally made video games—some already released, others still in development.
Guests can interact directly with the developers behind the games, ask questions, and learn more about the creative process.
Free pizza will be provided, and a special passport activity will encourage participants to try out each game. Those who complete the passport will receive a free game as a reward.
Event Details
The event takes place Friday, Aug. 8, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Mixed-Use Space Tulsa (MUST), located at 2417 E. Admiral Blvd. It is free to attend and open to all ages.
A Familiar Face in a Fantasy World
One of the featured games is a creature-collecting RPG called Animal Game, developed by local creator Aaron Campbell.
Inspired by real-life people and events, the game includes a playful parody character named “Mess Taune,” a nod to News On 6’s Tess Maune.
In the game, Mess Taune challenges players to catch a catfish and rewards them with unique items like a noodling glove and morel mushrooms—gear that helps players progress in their quest.
