Town ‘pleased’ as Ontario approves zoning for new Innisfil casino

The provincial government just went all in on a major casino proposal in Innisfil.

InnisfilToday has learned Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has approved a minister’s zoning order (MZO) for the Gateway Casinos gaming facility slated for the southeast corner of the 2nd Line and Reive Boulevard.

This decision was rendered on July 17 and it applies to about 10.2 hectares of land on Reive that was part of the former Innisfil Creek Golf Course.

“The Town of Innisfil was pleased to hear that Gateway Casinos Innisfil has been granted a minister’s zoning order to proceed with the development of their new facility,” town communications manager Jane Cocking said in an email Friday morning.
