Tottenham Hotspur have already held talks with two attacking midfielders, who the Lilywhites have identified as alternatives for Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Gibbs-White to Tottenham saga is now officially over, and it was not the ending that Spurs would have hoped for, with the midfielder signing a new contract at Nottingham Forest.
Spurs fans are furious that the club wasted so much time pursuing Gibbs-White, and the North London side will now have to act swiftly to land an alternative.
It turns out that Thomas Frank’s men have already identified several alternatives to the Forest star, and have even held talks with two of them.
Tottenham have held talks with Man City man and Chelsea target
TBR Football have claimed that Xavi Simons and James McAtee are among the attacking midfielders on Spurs’ wishlist.
In fact, the outlet claims that the Lilywhites have already spoken to the RB Leipzig star and Man City youngster about a move to N17.
However, the report reveals that Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to land Simons as Chelsea are already in advanced talks over a deal for the Dutchman.
It is claimed that Spurs may now have an opportunity to land McAtee, who had been identified by Forest as a replacement for Gibbs-White.
With Forest now out of the race for the Man City man, it is alleged that Tottenham could land the player for just around £20m.
Spurs are also fans of Liverpool youngster
TBR Football claim that Tottenham were also closely monitoring Harvey Elliott before they pushed ahead with a move for Gibbs-White.
It is claimed that Frank’s men could reignite their interest in the Liverpool man after missing out on the England international.
The publication also suggests that West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta could become a target for Tottenham as the Brazilian has been cleared of all charges and is available for just £30m.
