Scott Pilgrim EX is punching back into the gaming space sometime next year, but it made its presence known at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend as new gameplay was shown off as well as the announcement that Limited Run Games would be handling physical editions for the game. Focusing first on the gameplay, the three minute video can be seen below and gives a little more info on the story surrounding the game.
Scott Pilgrim EX Story Details We Know So Far
In Scott Pilgrim EX, Scott and Ramona Flowers are working to find their friends and band equipment to get ready for the big show tonight. It appears that Scott became friends with a robotic version of himself that kidnapped people like Knives, Ryan, Kim, and Young Neil. Along the way, they fight three different factions in the Vegans, Demons, and Robots while GCorp has affected time and space to make a whole mess of Toronto that will also have dinosaurs and new areas like beaches added to it.
While we only know about Scott and Ramona being playable so far, the game is a four player cooperative beat-em up, so you can expect the missing friends to also be playable characters, and who knows, maybe some other surprises along the way.
Scott Pilgrim EX Limited Run Physical Editions
There are three physical editions coming from Limited Run for Scott Pilgrim EX that you can pre-order from here until September 21. The standard edition is $39.99 (US) and comes with just a disc (or cartridge for Switch owners) and the case has unique reversible cover art.
The Deluxe Adventure Edition is $64.99 and includes a tie-in comic made by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley and a CD of the game’s soundtrack by Anamanaguchi.
Finally, the biggest version is the Ultimate Adventure Edition, which has all of the above, plus a replica box of a fake console called the Game Goose (which does not have a console in it), two posters, a hardcover art book and strategy guide, a pixelated coin, and a small diorama with Scott, Ramona, a cat, and a bomb robot included. All of that will run you back $174.99 (US), which seems like a steep price, considering one of the items you are buying is literally just a box.
As of now, we don’t know when the Scott Pilgrim EX release date is, but who knows, you could possibly see it appear at any upcoming event, even a Nintendo Direct.
