A woman has been taken to hospital with “life threatening injuries” following a serious incident on the M25.
A section of the motorway was shut in both directions between Junction 6 for Godstone, in Surrey, and Junction 5 for Sevenoaks, with the M26 also shut at Junction 3 for Wrotham yesterday.
Several emergency vehicles were called to the scene at around 5.30pm, following “a report of a concern for safety” on the clockwise carriageway.
At least six police vehicles, an ambulance and air ambulance were in attendance.
At around 7pm, the motorway had reopened, but lengthy delays remained.
A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “The M25 has now reopened in both directions between junction 5 and 6.
“The road was closed in both directions whilst officers and an air ambulance attended the scene.
