Two people taken to hospital after armed police called to ‘serious assault’

A man has been arrested and two people taken to hospital – one with serious injuries.

Armed police and other emergency services were called to reports of an assault in Estuary View off the Thanet Way near Whistable at 5.42am today.

A woman was found badly hurt and was taken away for medical attention.

A second victim, who was later located, was also hospitalised.

It is not clear at this stage whether this was a man or another woman, or where they were found.

The arrested man is in his 30s and from the Dartford area.

Online reports said that at least seven emergency vehicles were in attendance.

Kent Police has been asked for further details.
