Grow a Garden, one of Roblox’s most popular and record-breaking games, is finally introducing a long-requested trading system.

According to the game’s developer, Jandel, the trading update is coming next week, either on July 26 or August 2, 2025, most likely during one of the platform’s typical Saturday update windows (Thanks @GAG_Leaks).

This announcement follows a whirlwind couple of months for the idle farming sim. Since June, Grow a Garden has surged past 21 million concurrent players, breaking records previously held by major titles like Fortnite. Even now, it maintains an incredibly active player base, with millions online at nearly any given moment.

The demand for a trading system stemmed from a common problem in the game’s community: scams. Without an official feature in place, players who attempted to trade items in public servers were often victims of unfair trades or simply lost items to dishonest users. The introduction of a proper trading system is expected to significantly reduce these incidents, offering a safer and more reliable way for players to exchange in-game items.

Jandel confirmed the feature’s development via a post on his official Discord server. He didn’t stop there, though — he also addressed other community feedback, including some frustration around recent updates.

One hot topic was the .08% drop rate for the new Kitsune pet, which was added during the Zen update on July 19. Acknowledging the backlash, Jandel admitted fault: “We won’t do this again, no excuses, my bad for this, I wasn’t respecting the community.”

Another concern brought up by fans involved the repetitive nature of recent in-game events. Jandel responded with transparency, admitting he’s feeling creatively burnt out after months of nonstop development. “The honest answer to this is I have no good ideas for events,” he said. “Maybe I am creatively drained, but if you want to suggest cool event ideas, I read the Starboard every day for ideas.”
