This week, Game Pass is getting a dose of the absurd and the agricultural, as two distinct titles roll onto the service. While we look forward to the unique experiences they offer, a handful of games are also preparing to make their exit.
New Adventures Hitting Game Pass This Week
Join us as we dig into the latest changes to your Game Pass subscription this week, as a couple of new games hit home, easing the pain of a plethora of leavers. The question is, what will you be playing? And what will you miss most?
Grounded 2 (Game Preview) (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – July 29th
Prepare to be shrunk again, but this time, the world is even larger!
Grounded 2 is stomping into Game Preview on Game Pass, inviting you back into a sprawling, uncharted backyard environment.
Shrunk to the size of an ant, once-familiar spaces transform into an epic, untamed frontier. This survival crafting adventure can be tackled alone or with friends in co-op, as you craft weapons, forge armour, and construct bases amidst overgrown manmade playgrounds.
Navigate this new realm on trusty Buggy mounts – your very own insect friends that you can hatch, raise, and even ride into battle or use for resource gathering. But beware: a persistent, unseen threat is out there, watching, learning, and ready to make your miniature existence a living nightmare. You were never alone, and it hasn’t forgotten you.
Whilst still in Game Preview, if you loved what the original Grounded delivered, Grounded 2 should be on your radar. Stay tuned for a little preview piece from us soon – we’ll let you know how this one fares.
Farming Simulator 25 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 1st
Cultivate your digital dreams with Farming Simulator 25, arriving on Game Pass for agricultural enthusiasts.
This latest entry in the popular simulation series invites you to build and manage your own thriving farm. Immerse yourself in the intricacies of agricultural management, from sowing and harvesting expanded crop types like rice and spinach, to raising new animals such as goats and water buffalo.
Explore three distinct maps – North America, East Asia, and Central Europe – each offering unique environments and challenges.
While our 3.5/5 review noted that it “doesn’t feel significantly different from its predecessors like Farming Simulator 22,” it concluded that “fans of the series will likely appreciate the new additions found in Farming Simulator 25… If you enjoyed previous Farming Simulator games, you’ll undoubtedly find many hours of enjoyment here.“
Final Call: Games Leaving Game Pass on July 31st
As always, the Game Pass cycle means we must bid farewell to some titles. Be sure to jump back into these games before they depart the service on July 31st.
- Gigantic (Cloud, Console, and PC): The hero shooter MOBA that returned in 2024 for a Rampage Edition, offering fast-paced team battles. Back in 2017, our review noted its “solid combat, interesting character creations, and the potential to grow.“
- Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Cloud, Console, and PC): A visually stunning action-strategy game steeped in Japanese folklore, where you defend the land from monstrous spirits. Our 4.5/5 review called it “so unusual that it is a must play… so different, so compelling, that it is a joy to play.“
- Turnip Boy Robs a Bank (Cloud, Console, and PC): The hilarious roguelite action-adventure sequel where the mischievous Turnip Boy teams up with the Pickled Gang to pull off a bank heist. Our 4/5 review stated, “You’ll enjoy your time with Turnip Boy a lot more on the second go around… If you’re looking for a couple hours of fun then it’s definitely a game worth checking out.“
This week’s Game Pass update offers a fascinating contrast, from the sprawling survival of Grounded 2 to the methodical management of Farming Simulator 25.
Make sure you dive into these new experiences and give a final send-off to the departing titles before July closes out.
