Tottenham fans could get an important clue on whether Morgan Gibbs-White’s move to N17 is any closer to going through this evening.
It has now been 15 days since Tottenham met Morgan Gibbs-White’s £60m release clause, but the transfer has ground to a complete halt.
According to reports, Spurs are frustrated that the deal for Gibbs-White is not progressing, with the legal mess between Nottingham Forest and the North London club continuing to drag on.
Over recent days, several sources have indicated that Gibbs-White remains extremely keen on completing a move to Tottenham and has informed the Forest hierarchy of his wishes.
All eyes on Nottingham Forest and Morgan Gibbs-White as Tottenham continue to wait
The 25-year-old has been training with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in Portugal over the last few days, which is a clear indication that his move to N17 is not close to going through right now.
By the looks of it, the midfielder is not agitating for a transfer and is happy to remain professional and allow the deal to take its course.
Forest will take on Fulham in a pre-season friendly at SC Farense’s Estadio de Sao Luis at 8 pm this evening.
Gibbs-White did feature in the Midlands club’s friendly against Monaco last Saturday, and all eyes will be on the teamsheet this afternoon to see if the midfielder is named in the starting eleven as Tottenham Hotspur fans continue to look for hints that the deal is progressing.
Spurs have considered making a bigger offer for Gibbs-White
It was reported by The Daily Mail a couple of days ago that Tottenham have held discussions about making a £65m offer for Morgan Gibbs-White.
However, the North London club are unclear if such an offer will be enough to clinch the deal, with Forest not sending any signals over what they want.
Some Spurs fans are urging the club to call off their Gibbs-White pursuit and pursue other alternatives instead.
