Variety has reported Amazon MGM Studios is developing a TV series adapting the Wolfenstein games, and it has a wonderful and true logline: “The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.”

No other plot details have been shared at this time, but fans of the series can expect series mainstay William B.J. Blazkowicz to, ya know, kill plenty of Nazis in the show. The early games were set in World War II while the MachineGames titles, starting with 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order, were set in an alternate history where the Nazis won WWII. Blazkowicz killed ‘em all the same.

In terms of behind-the-scenes talent, Station Eleven creator Patrick Somerville will be creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series. Kilter Films, which executive produced Amazon’s Fallout show, will assume the same role for the Wolfenstein series.

Over the past few years, Amazon has steadily been building up a roster of series adapting video games, though some are still in the early stages of development. Fallout has been renewed for season 3 before its second season had even aired, a Mass Effect series recently acquired a showrunner, its in-development God of War show is aiming for at least two seasons, and its 2024 Secret Level anthology was hit or miss, though the Pac-Man episode was surely a standout.
