Wolfenstein TV Series Adaptation in the Works from Amazon

A Wolfenstein TV show is in the works from Amazon and the producer of the Fallout show, Kilter Productions and Patrick Somerville’s chaoticgood.tv production banner, according to Variety. While next to nothing is known about what the story will focus on, you can expect it to feature a lot of killing of the worst possible people in the world’s history. The logline of the series is “The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.”

Wolfenstein TV Show on the Way from Amazon

Following the success of the Fallout show and its upcoming second and third seasons, it’s not necessarily surprising that Amazon and Bethesda would want to venture forward with another very popular franchise getting an adaptation. Between Wolfenstein, Doom, and The Elder Scrolls, there is a lot of room for these games to make the jump to a show streaming service.

For anyone who hasn’t played the recent Wolfenstein games, the series was rebooted in 2014. From that point, series protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz is still a Nazi-killing machine, but he also feels much more human. Throughout the stories in these games, we see him deal with love, loss, overcoming war-time anxiety, and dive into his past. If you are a fan of the way PlayStation has given much more personality to Kratos in the God of War games, we highly recommend playing the current Wolfenstein games.

What Will the Wolfenstein’s Show Story Be?

If we were to guess, the game’s story will likely be closer to what we see in the Wolfenstein show, as opposed to the Fallout story, which is largely original for that series. We expect to see tons of mechanized warriors, including the super soldiers and panzerhunds (the large robotic dogs). These games also take place in a timeline where the Nazis won World War II, so expect B.J. to be working alongside resistance members to take down the regime. If this show can stay faithful to that story, you will see a lot of people praise the series similar to how Fallout Season 1 was.

Outside of Wolfenstein and Fallout, Amazon is going all in on bringing series adaptations for your favorite nerdy franchises. Critical Role has had their Vox Machina series announced for a fifth and final season, and the Mighty Nein is making its debut this fall. For video games, Prime Video also has Like a Dragon: Yakuza and the anthology series Secret Level, with series based on God of War and Mass Effect also in the works.
