Tottenham supporters have weighed in on Millwall’s reported interest in Alfie Devine, with many fans naming the price it would take to part ways with the highly rated midfielder.
Rumours have it that Championship side Millwall are showing interest in Tottenham youngster Alfie Devine.
It is understood that the Championship side is looking to sign Devine permanently this summer, following his loan spell at Westerlo last season.
Devine has come through the ranks at Spurs and has featured twice for the Lilywhites at first-team level, scoring one goal.
The attacking midfielder is a record holder at Tottenham, as he became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer at 16 years and five months when he netted against Marine in the FA Cup in January 2021.
Tottenham fans set valuation for Alfie Devine amid Millwall interest
Tottenham Hotspur fans who are aware of the latest links have been quick to name their asking price for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.
One fan said: “Great player with high potential £9M”. Another stated: “Hard to tell honestly. Give me £10M, he is yours no buyback”.
One more commented on Devine: “£8M”. Meanwhile, another quoted: “7m with a sell-on clause”. Another supporter was creative with it, including a buyback clause: “9 mill with a sell-on clause and a £25 mill buy-back clause”.
Another added: “Loan”. Meanwhile, one supporter feels it is a bad strategy: “It would be SUPER stupid! We need club-trained. At least have club-trained for rotation and backup. Too thin UCL-squad will never win anything!”.
While another does not believe Tottenham should sell Alfie Devine: “Do not think we should sell, he looks like he is decent whenever he plays for us”.
Spurs likely to include clauses in any Devine transfer deal
So far this summer window, Tottenham Hotspur have already completed the sale of a young academy graduate, which shows they are ready to do deals if the terms are right.
Josh Keeley was sold for £1 million to League One side Luton Town, but Spurs ensured to include a sell-on clause in that deal.
If Alfie Devine were to be sold, then one can expect Tottenham to look to secure a similar deal that would have other incentives, because let us be real, the kid is only 20, with loads of potential.
