Daily fantasy sports operator PrizePicks has secured gaming licenses in both Puerto Rico and Maine.
The milestone positions the company as the first licensed DFS operator in Puerto Rico.
Players in Maine can now access the platform’s signature fantasy experience, Arena, while operations in Puerto Rico are expected to launch in the coming months.
The launch brings PrizePicks’ operational footprint to 47 U.S. jurisdictions.
“We’re grateful to the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and the Maine Gambling Control Unit for their partnership and support throughout the licensure process,” said Adam Packer, Senior Vice President of Legal & Compliance at PrizePicks. “We’ve seen tremendous engagement with Arena across the country, and we’re confident that momentum will carry into these new jurisdictions.”
PrizePicks is based in Atlanta, where it announced in 2024 plans to expand operations, creating 1,000 new jobs over the next seven years. Its popular Arena product is a ‘pick’em’ style game where users make predictions about athletes in sporting fixtures and win money if they come true.
