Limited Run Games Settles Video-Privacy Lawsuit for $2.7 Million

Limited Run Games Inc. would pay $2.72 million to settle a proposed class action alleging it disclosed consumers’ video-watching behavior to Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, under a proposed deal filed in federal court.

Class members would receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund after deduction of attorneys’ fees and expenses, service awards for the class representatives, and administrative costs, according to a motion for preliminary approval of the deal filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
