Circa Sports has launched what is billed as the largest sportsbook in Kentucky, located inside The Mint Gaming Hall at Kentucky Downs in Franklin. The 5,100-square-foot venue is also one of the largest east of the Mississippi River, according to the operator.
The sportsbook features an 80-foot-wide LED screen, a 31-foot odds board, and premium seating that includes 113 stadium-style seats, luxury recliners, and booth-style configurations. Bettors can place wagers through five staffed stations—including one that is ADA-accessible—and four self-service kiosks, three of which are positioned inside the adjacent casino.
A live broadcast studio for the Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN) is also housed in the facility. VSiN provides live and on-demand sports betting content across multiple platforms.
Expansion into Kentucky
The new sportsbook further expands the brand’s presence in the state. Circa Sports’ mobile app is already operational across Kentucky, the brand’s fifth state after Nevada, Iowa, Illinois, and Colorado.
The company said a soft launch of the new retail sportsbook is already underway in advance of an official ribbon-cutting event scheduled for August 20, with a grand opening to follow on August 23.
“We’re proud to officially open the doors to this new sports betting experience for fans across the region,” said Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Sports. “Whether you’re placing a bet or simply watching the action unfold, this book is built to be a premier gameday spot for Kentucky, Nashville and beyond.”
“Where passion meets precision — experience every moment on the massive 80-foot screen, indulge in premium comfort, and stay ahead with real-time updates,” said Johan Mirkovic, Vice President and General Manager of The Mint Gaming Hall. “Here, the thrill of the game and the excitement of the bet come together in a state-of-the-art haven, inspiring champions both on and off the field.”
NFL contest portfolio grows
Circa Sports is also expanding its NFL contest offerings. The guaranteed prize pool for its Circa Survivor contest has grown from $10 million in 2024 to $15 million for 2025. The 2024 edition drew 14,266 entries and paid out more than $14.2 million to eight participants.
The company also introduced a new high-stakes event, Circa Grandissimo, which uses the Survivor format. The contest features a $100,000 buy-in, limits players to two entries, and guarantees a $1.5 million prize for the winner.
