Bayern Munich hope Tottenham tick one significant box with Joao Palhinha bid

Bayern Munich are hoping that Tottenham Hotspur change their stance on Joao Palhinha, with the Bundesliga club relying on the midfielder’s sale in order to fund their own transfer pursuit.

The last few days have been dominated by speculation linking Palhinha with a move to Spurs, who are thought to be keen on securing the Portugal international.

Earlier this week, GiveMeSport claimed that Palhinha prefers to stay at Bayern and fight for his place, with Tottenham thus having work to do to land the player.

However, a number of reports from Germany have indicated that Spurs are serious about landing the former Fulham man and are pressing forward with talks over the 30-year-old.

Bayern Munich hoping to sell Joao Palhinha to Tottenham

Bild have now become the latest outlet to report that the North Londoners are advancing their interest in the 30-year-old.

The outlet backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent days by stating that Tottenham Hotspur prefer to sign Palhinha on loan.

However, Bayern want Spurs to change their stance and make a permanent move for the Portuguese international.

The Bavarian side are hoping Thomas Frank’s men pay around €25m-€30m (£21.7m-£26m) for Palhinha so that they can use those funds to push through the signing of VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade.

Tottenham want to sort out one issue before signing Palhinha

According to Alasdair Gold and some other sources, Tottenham want to sell one of their midfielders before making an offer for Palhinha.

The most likely candidate to depart appears to Yves Bissouma, who is surplus to requirements for Thomas Frank at Tottenham after entering the final year of his contract.

However, some outlets indicate that Bissouma is not in a hurry to leave Spurs and is waiting for the right offer, with the former Brighton man thought to prefer remaining in the Premier League
