Ubisoft has officially announced that Claws of Awaji, the first DLC for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, will release on September 16, 2025. The expansion adds a new island region, fresh gameplay mechanics, and a continuation of the main story for players who’ve completed the base game.
What’s included in Claws of Awaji?
- New region: The island of Awaji, located beyond Osaka Bay
- 10+ hours of story content featuring Naoe and Yasuke
- New faction: The Sanzoku Ippa, a relentless group of treasure hunters
- New weapon: The Bō staff, exclusive to Naoe
- Fresh gear and outfits tailored to stealth and combat
- Expanded abilities and traversal options
The DLC picks up after the main campaign’s ending, with Naoe and Yasuke searching for a lost treasure while evading ambushes and traps set by the Sanzoku Ippa. Here’s how to access it:
- Free for pre-order buyers
- Paid DLC for standard edition owners
- Unlocks only after completing the main story
- Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
