A pan-Asian takeaway so popular it left customers “blown away” has closed less than two years after opening.
Rayu Pan Asian began its journey in Ashford in November 2023 with a menu featuring a range of Thai, Japanese and Malaysian dishes.

But bosses have now shut the establishment after just 18 months of trading along the Church Road parade of shops in Willesborough.
The takeaway had appeared to initially close temporarily after a sign in its front window, which remains today, read: “We’re closed. Thanks.”
However, a statement released by the business online has now confirmed this is not the case.
It said: “Ashford location is no longer part of RAYU and is now permanently closed.”

Customers are also unable to purchase orders online via Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
The shop, which replaced Willesborough Tandoori after the latter spent more than 15 years at the premises, was popular across Ashford for the likes of its bao buns, rice bowls and gyoza dishes.
Also serving up Thai crackers, squid rings and aromatic duck rolls, it received a three-star hygiene rating in its latest food inspection report in February this year.
Scoring 3.8 out of five stars on Google Review, some of the most complimentary comments heaped praise on the establishment for its food.

One, written by customer Steven Harris, read: “First takeaway from Rayu Pan and was blown away.
“Large order delivered within 30 minutes and the food was delicious. Will order again.”
Asmaa Hussein also wrote: “Delicious food, arrived right on time.
“Thank you so much for the extra Nutella banana – such a sweet surprise.”
Rayu has nine other takeways in its franchise, with its closest being in Petts Wood, Orpington.
