Konami Gaming granted a UAE gaming-vendor licence – GGRAsia

Konami Gaming Inc says it has been awarded a gaming-related vendor licence by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The company’s product portfolio includes slot machines for commercial casinos as well as its Synkros floor-management system.

In a Thursday update, the firm described the UAE as “a key emerging market for commercial gaming”.

The first confirmed casino project for the UAE is Wynn Al Marjan Island, in Ras Al Khaimah. It is a venture between Wynn Resorts Ltd and local partners, and might be completed in 2027, according to the promoters.

Thomas Jingoli, president and chief operating officer at Konami Gaming, was cited as saying in the Thursday statement: “As the United Arab Emirates expands its economy to the regulated commercial gaming space, Konami is dedicated to supporting this market with the same integrity, innovation, and excellence we bring to all 431 gaming jurisdictions we serve worldwide.”

The parent firm is Japan’s Konami Group Corp, which runs business outside Japan via U.S.-based Konami Gaming Inc and Konami Australia Pty Ltd.

The GCGRA is responsible for regulating, licensing, and supervising all UAE commercial gaming activities. It issued its first gaming-related vendor licence in October last year.
