Battlefield 6 has finally unveiled its reveal trailer. While no gameplay was shown in the video that runs a little over two minutes, it instead focuses on spectacle and establishing a war that involves an attack on New York, which we knew from the first look at key art of the game. We see a president giving a message to the American public and then the rest of the footage is aimed at showing soldiers in action and lots of explosions. The video description paints the game like this:
“Witness the vicious path of destruction carved by Pax Armata, the world’s leading private military company. PAX pursues the destruction of NATO and its allies, stopping at nothing to uphold their motto: ‘Our Protection, Your Peace.’
Lock & load for the ultimate all-out warfare experience. Fight in high-intensity infantry combat. Rip through the skies in aerial dogfights. Demolish your environment for a strategic advantage. In a war of tanks, fighter jets, and massive combat arsenals, your squad is the deadliest weapon. This is Battlefield 6.”
While the trailer seems very focused on establishing this world, we aren’t too sure if Battlefield 6 will actually have a campaign. The series these days usually focus on multiplayer more, and we doubt that there has been a shift here. If there is a single player mode, it will likely be much smaller in scope.
Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal Next Week
As mentioned, your first look at official gameplay for Battlefield 6 will come next week on July 31. While there wasn’t an official announcement, the rumor is that the event will be handled similarly to CODNext, which usually shows a new trailer of the game in action, then has various media and content creators playing against each other. With Battlefield known for housing a lot of players in a lobby, we imagine that the players involved will be quite large.
We also now know for sure that Battlefield 6 will not be available on last-gen consoles. Wishlist links on the game’s website only go to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Steam, and Epic Games Store pages. There is no mention of PS4, Xbox One, or, unsurprisingly, Nintendo Switch. There’s also no mention of Nintendo Switch 2, which is getting Madden from EA for the first time in over a decade. With how large and intensive of a game that Battlefield 6 looks to be, we would be surprised if EA put in the effort to make the game playable on the hybrid console.
