Tottenham Hotspur fans may have just got a glimpse into the club’s plans for Luka Vuskovic this season, courtesy of a report from Germany.
While several youngsters impressed in Tottenham’s first pre-season friendly of the summer against Reading, one man undoubtedly stole the show.
Luka Vuskovic could not have hoped for a better start to his Spurs career, scoring a goal and picking up an assist in the 2-0 win.
It was previously reported that Hamburg and Club Brugge had contacted Vuskovic’s representatives about a loan move, but a new update suggests that a move away from N17 is now unlikely for the teenager this summer.
Hamburg set to admit defeat in their pursuit of Luka Vuskovic
Luka Vuskovic’s brother has revealed that the Tottenham man would love to come on loan to Hamburg, which is where he plays his football.
However, a new report in Hamburger Morgenpost has now claimed that the newly promoted Bundesliga side are now ready to give up on their pursuit of the 18-year-old.
While the German side were keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur man, they have now learned that he is likely to stay in North London.
The report claims that Hamburg’s chances of landing Vuskovic were ‘already slim’ and they are now ready to abandon the chase and pursue other alternatives, such as Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap.
Thomas Frank had already made up his mind about Vuskovic
Even before the centre-back’s showing against Reading, it was reported that Frank had already decided to keep Vuskovic as a part of his first-team plans.
While the teenager might not get too many opportunities in his first few months at Tottenham, it will undoubtedly be extremely beneficial for his development to train alongside top-class players regularly.
Following his dream debut, Vuskovic admitted that everything has been ‘perfect’ in his first few weeks at Spurs.
