EA does not seem interested in releasing a remake of The Sims (yes, the originals as they were), but the Maxis classic remains a very relevant title. The series has returned to the forefront to commemorate its 25th anniversary, which it celebrates with the fourth installment more alive than ever. Meanwhile, a fan has recreated the original game with modern graphics using Unreal Engine 5. Comparisons with InZOI are inevitable, although the Korean game has a more realistic aesthetic.
As you can see in the video, the author has faithfully recreated the game’s aesthetic. Not only has he designed his own models, but he has also reused resources from other creators, although he has integrated them in a way that respects the architecture and style of The Sims.
InZOI, The Sims but photorealistic
InZOI has been marketed as a kind of realistic version of The Sims, since unlike the Maxis game, the developers have opted for a more realistic aesthetic. Even so, the title published by Krafton incorporates differences and continues to be updated and take shape.
EA’s plan for The Sims 4 is to continue working on new content and experiences. It’s not unusual for companies to take action against fan-made remakes, although they haven’t intervened in this particular case yet.
