Battlefield 6 is getting its reveal trailer later this week on Thursday, July 24. After months of speculation, we will finally get an official look at what DICE and EA have been working on.
The news comes from a social media post from the game’s official channel. The post features an image that is likely cover art showing four soldiers looking over a wartorn New York City. There is also a link to the incoming trailer on YouTube, which looks to go live Thursday, July 24 at 11 AM ET.
While the trailer on Thursday is our first official look at Battlefield 6, there has been various tidbits of info leaking from the upcoming project for a while now. The EA app supposedly has revealed that a public beta for the game will be available on August 4, with a COD Next-like event being held on July 31 to show various content creators and media playing the game. From the looks of the game and according to various leaks, Battlefield 6 is a return to modern day warfare, like Battlefield 3 and 4. It is not set in World War II like Battlefield V or the future of Battlefield 2042.
Will Battlefield 6 Have Open or Closed Weapons?
One of the biggest discussion points for Battlefield 6 has been whether weapons should be closed to a particular class or not. To decide how it will look at launch, the open beta will have multiple game mode playlists available with open or closed weapons. We imagine that the numbers from the beta will decide finally on whether or not the final game restricts each weapon to a particular class or not while you play.
Of course, there is also the potential that the playlists that allow players to play with open or closed weapons is just a permanent addition. As long as enough people are playing either side, there is no real reason to block off that choice for players. It really comes down to how many people play Battlefield 6 at launch. If there are so many more people playing open playlists over the closed ones, EA may look at it like a waste of time keeping the closed servers going.
It will be interesting to see what Battlefield 6 looks like later this week with its reveal trailer. We doubt there will be a ton to go off of here outside of some gameplay snippets, but in all honesty, if you have played a Battlefield game in the past, you know what you’re getting into here and what to expect.
