Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remaster of the original Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, initially released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. Developed and published by Konami, this promises to be a 1:1 remaster of the original with overhauled Unreal Engine 5 graphics, 3D audio, and only minor gameplay changes. In this action-adventure stealth game, play as Naked Snake as he infiltrates Soviet territory in an alternate history of the Cold War.

Since this is a faithful but upgraded remaster, this is an excellent way for the next generation of gamers to experience one of the most classic video game franchises ever. Veteran Metal Gear Solid fans can breathe easy as the developers promise to keep the remake as faithful to the original as possible. On a side note, check out the latest video featuring the new cinematic intro, which showcases one of the most spine-tingling video game music tracks of all time.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases on August 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

1000 Deaths

Looking for something to lose hours to this August? May we suggest Pariah Interactive Inc.’s 1000 Deaths. This is a single-player 3D platformer that allows the player to bend gravity. It also incorporates a bit of “you choose” gameplay, as everything the player decides can and will vary the outcome of the level, mechanics, and story. It’s an exciting game that will keep players invested through each of the levels, and we can’t wait to see our favorite speedrunners tackle this.

Although The Old Country is the fourth installment in the Mafia series, it is a prequel to the first game. This gritty mob story is set in the cutthroat underworld of Sicily in the 1900s. Fight for your life as Enzo Favara as you try to prove yourself to the Torrisi crime family in this brutal and unforgiving era. Rich with period-authentic details and cinematic storytelling, Mafia: The Old Country will immerse you in this clandestine world.

Sword of the Sea

Surf across magnificent waves of sand and glistening waters on an epic quest to restore a lost ocean. From the visionary artist behind ABZÛ, The Pathless, and Journey, Sword of the Sea is an atmospheric surfing adventure with fast movement inspired by classic skateboarding and snowboarding games. Carve your way forward on the ancient and powerful Hoversword, which moves like a snowboard, skateboard, and surfboard all in one. Build momentum to reach top speed and catch big air off the crests of giant waves. Pull off radical flips, spins and easily grab tricks as you shred halfpipes, ramps and wall rides. It’s the perfect balance of exhilarating action and fluid, meditative movement.

The wait is finally over when Sword of the Sea releases for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on August 19, 2025.

Slip into nostalgia as we take on the role of either Gary or James and shoot your way through mayhem and horror.

Dying Light: The Beast

Dying Light: The Beast is a survival horror game developed and published by Techland. Kyle Crane returns after being held in captivity and experimented on for 13 years. Crane escapes imprisonment and seeks revenge on those who tortured him for over a decade.

Since the last time we saw our protagonist, it seems he has been battling with something unnatural dwelling deep inside that gives him superhuman powers. He can now run faster and trigger a beast mode that gives him inhuman strength, but at what cost? Control the beast within as you try to survive the zombie apocalypse and seek much-deserved revenge.

Dying Light: The Beast releases on August 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
