Video shows car in flames at business park as three fire engines sent out

Businesses have been told to shutter their offices and workshops as firefighters battle a car blaze at an industrial park.

Videos show the back tyre of a black Peugeot parked at John Wilson Business Park near Whitstable explode as firefighters blast foam and water at the flaming vehicle.

Eyewitnesses say the crews arrived at the scene sometime after 2pm on Monday and that the fire has so far been contained to a single car at the complex on Harvey Drive.

Ruchika Saini of Achieving Clarity – an accountancy firm which has its office in the business park – says she and her colleagues were told to stay inside.

“It’s been on fire for about half an hour. It’s really bad,” said Mrs Saini, 30.

“The firefighters told us to shut the shutters and not come out of our office now.”

“Three fire engines are currently in attendance and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, are using main jets and Compressed Air Foam Systems to extinguish the fire.
