Man arrested after police use drone to track down stolen bikes

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after police used a drone to find a collection of stolen bicycles and e-scooters.

Officers deployed the drone above a property in Cheriton Road, Folkestone, where multiple bikes were recovered.

A police spokesperson added: “In total 12 bikes and two e-scooters were seized.

“A 71-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods. He has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

“Efforts are underway to reunite the bikes with their rightful owners.”

To claim one of the bikes, proof of purchase, a serial number, and/or details of unique identifying features will be required.
