The Lenovo LOQ 15 15IRX10 gaming laptop is now on sale at a sizeable discount of close to $400. The laptop is the latest iteration of Lenovo’s premier budget gaming laptop series and packs a good combination of an RTX 5050 GPU and a Core i5-13450HX CPU.
When it comes to budget gaming laptops, the Lenovo LOQ series has been an easy recommendation due to good price-to-performance. Moreover, you can also often find Lenovo LOQ gaming laptops on sale, which makes them an even better value. For instance, you can currently get the Lenovo LOQ 15 15IRX10 gaming laptop from Lenovo for less than $800.
To be more precise, the Lenovo LOQ 15 (Gen 10, Intel) with a Core i5-13450HX CPU, a newly launched RTX 5050 laptop GPU, 12 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage is now retailing for just $788 on Lenovo’s official store. This price, which is a 33% discount on the $1,185 list price, is reached when you apply the coupon code EXTRAFIVE at checkout.
While it is only $788, the Lenovo LOQ 15 should punch above its weight, as we gave the laptop a “Good” rating of 78% in our review. The laptop boasts qualities like a 100% sRGB 15.6-inch IPS display with a speedy 144 Hz refresh rate and 300 nits of brightness. The machine also offers plenty of upgradability options with two SO-DIMM and two M.2 slots for a max of 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage.
Moving on to ports, there are:
- Three Type-A ports
- One Type-C connector with DisplayPort and Power Delivery
- One HDMI out
- A 3.5 mm headphone jack
- An RJ45 Ethernet jack
Performance-wise, the combination of an RTX 5050 and a 10-core/16-thread Core i5-13450HX CPU should allow 60 FPS gameplay at 1080p in most titles. While we haven’t yet tested the RTX 5050 laptop GPU, the board should be considerably more powerful than the RTX 4050, especially with much faster GDDR7 memory and DLSS 4.
Being a budget gaming laptop, the Lenovo LOQ does show some obvious weaknesses. For starters, the chassis, while boasting good durability, is all plastic. The laptop is also heavy at 2.4 kg (5.39 lbs) and only carries a moderate 60 Wh battery. The small battery for a 15-incher only resulted in a 4.5-hour WLAN runtime in our review. Heat and noise emissions are also just ok.
Despite all of the shortcomings, the Lenovo LOQ 15 Gen 10 remains an excellent value at $788. So, LOQ 15 will serve gamers on the lookout for an affordable gaming laptop rather well.
