Manchester United star makes plea to fans despite ‘exciting’ signings and reveals Premier League aim

Amad Diallo has called for patience from Manchester United fans this season following their nightmare run of form in 2025.

United ended the 2024/25 Premier League campaign in 15th, which is their lowest ever finish in the league.

After winning only 11 of their 38 matches, they were also beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Ruben Amorim’s side completed a £62.5million deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo is also on course to join.

But even with new attacking options, Amad believes the United fans need to stick with them in order to compete for silverware again.

“I think they have to be patient with us,” he said via The Daily Mail.

“There’s a new manager, with new players and new tactics. We know last season wasn’t really good for the team.

“But I think this season we will win a lot with him [Amorim] and I hope this season that we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season.”

“A good season will be top five,” he added on their season outlook. “I hope we can achieve top five at the end of the season.”

Cunha made his United debut in a pre-season friendly against Leeds United which ended 0-0 on Saturday.

He has joined off the back of a 17-goal season with Wolves, and Amad hopes he can solve their scoring woes.

He said: “He’s a good player. We need good players in the team and he’ll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things.

“Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best.”

talkSPORT understands United have reached an agreement with Brentford to sign Mbeumo for £65m and £6m in add-ons.

The 25-year-old netted 20 goals and assisted eight more in the Premier League last season, with Old Trafford his next destination.

“Of course I’m looking forward to playing with him,” Amad said.

“We need good players in the team who can bring something to the final third.

“We are really excited to have them in the team and I hope that together we can give something to the fans at the end of the season because they deserve it.”
