In the deep lore of Warframe, a lot of events in the game date back to the olden days of the Orokin, Dax, and Sentients. During the gameplay demo for the next update for Warframe, The Old Peace, we learned that our next chapter starts on Tauron. Because of this, it only makes sense that at the end of TennoLive, Digital Extremes confirmed that the Tau system itself is being added to the game in 2026 in a cryptic tease. Making many players’ dreams come true.
What does the Tau System for Warframe mean
Warframe has primarily taken place in the Origin System. Where players can do missions on Earth, Venus, Mercury, and even Mars. But outside of this, after taking small detours to Duviri and even 1999, this is going to be a refreshing new system for Digital Extremes to venture into. Tau will no doubt feature multiple locations, missions, and, of course, story content when it arrives in 2026.
If you look at your star chart, near Duviri and Railjack, there seems to be a third missing block. I am of the belief that the Tau system will be accessed in a dedicated node there. How many planets, missions, and story content will launch with the update will be revealed next year. Considering the content shown in The Old Peace, it will no doubt be focused on the Sentients and the story of the Operator and Adis.
