Discover Your Inner Magic with The Merry Fairy
If you’re seeking a peaceful escape from the demands of everyday life, The Merry Fairy might just be your sanctuary. Just released via Steam, this gentle journaling game invites you to unwind in a whimsical cottage filled with serenity and charm.
Unlike traditional games, The Merry Fairy skips the challenges and goals entirely, focusing instead on calm creativity. In that sense, it isn’t exactly a game, but more a relaxing journaling/ scrapbooking experience. You’ll find yourself welcomed into an enchanted home where everything is in abundance, from cosy candlelight to a fully stocked desk of decorations, all ready for your personalised scrapbook journal.
Settle in, light a candle (or several), and explore a magical space made just for you. With no pressure or rules, you’re free to discover your inner sparkle through journaling and design. Whether you’re scribbling quiet thoughts or crafting radiant pages, The Merry Fairy offers a warm embrace to anyone in need of rest, reflection and a touch of enchantment.
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Takes to the Rails
The tranquil productivity game Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is set to receive a magical new expansion on 26 July 2025, exclusively for PC via Steam. Spirit City: Lofi Sessions – All Aboard! adds a dynamic twist to your everyday self-care routine, inviting you to board a customisable train and enjoy relaxing activities on the move.
As you journey through Spirit City’s scenic landscapes, including cloud-kissed skies and lush countryside, you’ll uncover new ambient environments and meet fresh Spirits at each destination. The expansion introduces moving backgrounds, regional Spirit variants, and a redesigned space for journaling, reading and studying, now onboard your very own cosy train cabin.
The DLC also offers full cabin customisation, letting you tweak seating arrangements, window styles and even an open-air observation deck. It’s a fresh spin on Lofi Sessions’ signature chill vibes, aimed at helping you stay productive in a space that’s both inspiring and soothing.
To play, you’ll need the base game Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (which Kalina gave our highest rating in this review) also available on Steam.
Detective Dotson Coming to Switch
Get ready for some sleuthing with a splash of sequins—Detective Dotson, the colourful India-inspired cosy mystery, is twirling onto Nintendo Switch on 30 October 2025, courtesy of Japan’s indie publisher Rainy Frog.
If you’re partial to pixel art, peppy Bollywood moments and solving mysteries with flair, Detective Dotson is one for your radar. You’ll step into the shoes of Dotson—a drama-loving Desi detective who ditches stardom for a magnifying glass after his father’s suspicious death. What follows is a riot of four interconnected cases involving pink dogs, vanishing jewellery and gangster antics, all tying into a bigger family mystery.
Detective Dotson is already available on PC and Xbox, and Kalina gave the game her highest rating in her review.
Physical Edition For Cattle Country
Lynne reviewed Cattle Country and gave it a Two Thumbs Up. She wrote in her conclusion:
“Cattle Country is a rootin’-tootin’ addition to the farming/life sim genre. There are a few issues which need taming, especially around the loading times on the Nintendo Switch.
However, there is so much to do in Cattle Country! Engaging festivals and mini-games, intriguing character stories and one of the best mining experiences I’ve encountered. Cattle Country will be riding into my top games for this year!”
Good news then that the game is now out in physical version on Switch and PlayStation 5.

The Wandering Village on Consoles and Leaving Early Access
The Wandering Village is launching on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on 17 July 2025. This simulation game places your settlement on the back of a colossal creature named Onbu, as you navigate a toxic, post-apocalyptic world.
You’ll take charge of a group of survivors seeking refuge from poisonous spores, building a thriving village atop Onbu’s back. But survival isn’t just about construction, it’s about cooperation. Will you nurture a symbiotic bond with your wandering host, or exploit it for your own gain?
Whether you’re feeding Onbu, launching food via catapult, or steering it through danger, every decision affects both your people and your creature. The game is already available on PC and Xbox and is also leaving Early Access on July 17.
Paula checked out the game in Early Access when it first launched three years ago, and the developers have been steadily working on it since!
Upin & Ipin Universe is Releasing on PC and Consoles
Upin & Ipin Universe is officially launching on 17 July 2025, bringing the animated twins from the Malaysian animated television series into their first-ever open-world adventure. Developed by Les’ Copaque Production and Streamline Studios, and published by Streamline Media Group, the game will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch.
You’ll explore the vibrant village of Kampung Durian Runtuh through a 12+ hour narrative campaign that celebrates Southeast Asian culture. From farming and fishing to spinning tops and cooking, the game blends nostalgic charm with modern gameplay mechanics—all wrapped in a family-friendly experience.
Expect a culturally rich open world inspired by traditional Southeast Asian life, interactive storytelling with no combat or microtransactions. You can play split-screen co-op and there’s full voice acting in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Personally, I had never heard of the twins, but the trailer looks very interesting!
Zoo 2: Animal Park Released on Steam and Mobile
Zoo 2: Animal Park has been around since 2018, but now you can play it for free on Steam, Android, iOS, or even just in a browser.
Basically, you’re restoring this old family zoo, and you get to look after all sorts of animals, unlock new areas, and decorate the place how you like. The graphics are nice and colourful, and there’s a bit of a story woven in, with some quirky characters and little quests to keep things interesting. You can even breed animals and customise stuff quite a lot, which is pretty fun.
With regular updates and some adorable animations it has enough depth if you’re into strategy games. There are in-game purchases if you want to speed things up or add extras, but you can play without spending anything as well.
Stop-motion Handmade Digging Adventure Mashina
Lovely looking game Mashina is coming out on Steam on 31 July 2025. You play as Mashina, a cheerful mining robot who’s on a mission to dig up minerals and help her quirky robot community thrive. Everything in Mashina is made out of all kinds of materials and animated using traditional stop-motion techniques.
The game splits into two parts: underground and overground. Underground, you’re scanning for treasures, digging up rare minerals, and building machines to make the job easier. Overground, you’re chatting with robot pals, upgrading your gear, and decorating your surroundings. It’s got a mellow vibe, but there’s plenty to do if you like exploring and tinkering.
If you’re into wholesome adventures with a bit of strategy and a lot of heart do check out the trailer!
Tourist Trap Update Go-Go Town
If you’ve been keeping an eye on Go-Go Town!, now’s a great time to jump back in as the Tourist Trap update just landed, and it’s the biggest one yet. Available now as a free content drop for players in Steam Early Access, this update seriously levels up the game’s tourism mechanics and late-game depth.
You’ll notice a whole new crowd of visitors rolling into town — from clowns and robots to aliens and dinosaurs — each with their own quirks and preferences. You’ll need to cater to their desires for entertainment, rest, shopping and more, which now directly affect your town’s rating. And thanks to the new Transit Terminals, you can choose who gets to visit, or who doesn’t.
On top of that, you’ve got star-rated food and shopping, major buildable landmarks like the Stadium and Hot Springs, and the long-awaited cliff terraforming feature, which lets you reshape the terrain to make room for your grand designs. There’s even a new visitor type, the Easy-Goer, to help ease new players into the game.
If you’re already playing Go-Go Town! or thinking about starting, this update adds a ton of fresh strategy and charm even before the full 1.0 launch. You can check out the trailer here.
