Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Jumps 15.4% in June as Online Keeps the Momentum

Pennsylvania’s gaming market is still pushing boundaries. The numbers for June 2025 just came in and they’re loud. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported $544.7 million in total gaming revenue for the month. That is a clean 15.% year-on-year increase, with digital still leading the momentum.

Hollywood and Valley Forge Set the Pace

Two names dominated the June report.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course racked up $96.4 million in revenue. That’s up 30% from the same month last year. It is still setting the tone for statewide performance.

Right behind it is Valley Forge Casino, pulling in $93.5 million. That is a 46.3% boost year-on-year. Both venues are showing strong returns across all verticals, but the real gains are coming from online and sports betting activity.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Parx Casino also passed the $50 million mark, recording $53.4 million and $52.5 million respectively. It is clear that the top-tier properties are still performing, but they are being challenged by growth in new channels.

iGaming Is Driving the Bigger Picture

iGaming revenue came in at $212.6 million for June, up 32.3%. Within that:

  • iGaming slots made $162.2 million, up 35.9%
  • Table games brought in $47.6 million, up 22.1%
  • Online poker added $2.7 million, growing 23.2%

Fantasy sports also contributed to the digital total, but the pattern is clear. This is not a temporary spike. It is a consistent digital climb, and it is changing how operators prioritise their verticals.

Sports Betting Is Gaining Speed

Sports wagering revenue hit $51.2 million, which is 71.4% higher than in June 2024. Total handle stood at $483.6 million, a 4.1% rise. Online betting took the majority share, with $49.2 million of that revenue generated through digital channels.

Valley Forge Casino took the top spot in this category too, with $23.2 million in sports betting revenue from $164 million in wagers. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed, earning $14.2 million from $132 million in bets.

Retail Keeps Steady, But Growth Lives Online

Retail slot machines still bring in the most money across all verticals. In June, they generated $199.3 million. But that is a 0.9% drop from June 2024.

Table games in physical venues earned $77.3 million, which is a 1.6% uptick. A small win, but not a game changer.

Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) brought in $3.4 million, down 2.2%. The decline here is part of a wider trend showing softness in traditional land-based verticals.

The Bigger Picture

If you compare June’s $544.7 million to May’s $601.8 million, yes, it looks like a dip. But May was a record-breaking month. That kind of total was always going to be hard to beat back-to-back.

Zoom out and you’ll see the story: year-on-year growth is consistent, and online is where the action is. Retail is not going anywhere yet, but it is not the driver anymore.

What’s Next

June was a snapshot of a market in transition. Online is not just growing, it is stabilising at a new baseline. And Pennsylvania is showing the rest of the US how that shift plays out when regulation, infrastructure and consumer demand align.

For operators, the message is simple. If you are not doubling down on iGaming and digital sports betting, you are just not playing to win.
