KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — The Missouri Gaming Commission held a sports wagering hearing on Thursday that focused on gathering feedback from the public, but no one from the public showed up to comment.
The main talking point of the hearing was to discuss the types of sportsbook licenses Missouri is offering.
The two main types are Direct Mobile License and Untethered License.
Tethered licenses require a partnership with a casino, while a direct license does not.
The application period for all licenses opened on May 15 and applications for the two available Direct Mobile Licenses were due by July 15.
Applicants for Direct Mobile Licenses will have an opportunity to appear before the Commission on August 13.
The Commission will announce the two applicants selected for the available Direct Mobile Licenses on August 15.
