West Ham United have moved to the front of the queue to land a Tottenham midfield target, but the Hammers’ move for the player may help Thomas Frank’s side offload a Spurs star who has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports over the last few weeks claiming that Juventus are eyeing a move for Yves Bissouma after learning that he might not be part of Frank’s plans at N17.
It has even been alleged that Juve’s general manager, Damien Comolli, could use his relationship with Daniel Levy to land Bissouma, with the Frenchman having previously served as Tottenham’s director of football.
However, the Serie A giants will not have a free run at the Mali international, with Jose Mourinho thought to be keen on taking Bissouma to Fenerbahce.
West Ham may aid Juventus’ efforts to land Yves Bissouma
A new report in Tuttosport has now claimed that the Tottenham midfielder is still very much at the forefront of Juve’s thinking.
The outlet states that an offer of around €23m-€25m (£19.8m-£21.6m) would be needed for the Bianconeri to land Bissouma, but they first need to raise those funds through player sales.
That is where West Ham come in, with the report claiming that the Hammers are now pushing ahead with a move to sign Douglas Luiz, who is surplus to requirements for the Serie A giants.
Igor Tudor’s men are hoping that the East London club will accelerate their efforts to land Luiz so that they can push ahead with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur man.
Spurs are also keeping an eye on Douglas Luiz
This update concerns the Lilywhites in more ways than one, as it has also been reported over the last week that Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing Luiz.
In fact, it has been asserted that senior Spurs figures are aware that Luiz wants to join N17, but he is not the only number six they are looking at.
Tottenham are also considering a move for Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, while some sources have claimed that Spurs have made contact with Bayern Munich regarding Joao Palhinha.
