Tottenham remain locked in talks for Morgan Gibbs-White, with hopes high that a resolution will be found in the very near future.
With each passing day, Tottenham fans continue to grow increasingly frustrated at how long the Morgan Gibbs-White saga has dragged on, and that feeling is entirely understandable given the confusion surrounding the situation.
Just a few days ago, many Spurs supporters were calling on the club to start considering alternative targets after a flurry of conflicting reports emerged regarding Nottingham Forest’s legal complaints.
Despite the noise, multiple outlets continue to insist that Morgan Gibbs-White will end up in north London before the end of the transfer window.
Tottenham still want Morgan Gibbs-White and hope to resolve deal this week
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man was seemingly on the verge of joining Tottenham last week, with reports at the time claiming that Gibbs-White’s medical had been scheduled just 24 hours after the club triggered his release clause.
However, the deal hit a snag due to Nottingham Forest’s allegations that Gibbs-White was approached illegally, with the Midlands club also accusing Tottenham of breaching confidentiality around the secret clause in his contract.
Now, a fresh report from GIVEMESPORT has given Spurs fans some clarity, as the outlet claims there is now a clearer timeline emerging regarding when Gibbs-White might complete his switch to north London.
It is understood that Tottenham still want to sign Gibbs-White before the window shuts and that they are working towards resolving the legal dispute with Forest as early as this week.
Forest try to keep Gibbs-White but Spurs remain confident
The England international has since returned to training with Nottingham Forest, and although it had been suggested that Gibbs-White could take legal action against Forest, the 25-year-old has not gone down that route.
In a last-ditch attempt to keep hold of their key asset, Forest have reportedly tabled a fresh contract offer that would not only increase Gibbs-White’s wages but also remove the release clause altogether. The player is believed to have turned that proposal down.
It is understood that Gibbs-White wants to join Tottenham, and despite the tension behind the scenes at Forest, Gibbs-White’s camp remains confident that a deal will be pushed through in the coming days.
