It’s no secret that Fortnite is the king of crossovers and collaborations with different games and brands, especially when it comes to other properties under the Epic Games umbrella. One game we’ve seen featured as a crossover before is Rocket League, but it turns out that the Octane wasn’t where things were going to end. Players can now also get the Ripper car from Rocket League for free in Fortnite, so let me run you through what you need to do to get it.

It’s All in the Epic Games Account

The Ripper is another car skin in the long list that have previously appeared in Rocket League that players can now get in Fortnite. As with the Battle Bus SUV, players must already have the Ripper in Rocket League on an account linked to the same Epic Games account they use for Fortnite.
The Ripper was originally part of Rocket League’s Chaos Run DLC, which was released back in December 2015. However, when the game was acquired by Epic Games and re-released in a free-to-play format in 2020, all the existing DLC was bundled into the main game. Since then, other cars and skins have been made available via the in-game store, but whether you purchased the Chaos Run DLC or not, you should have the Ripper in your Rocket League garage.
If you don’t already have the Ripper in your Rocket League garage, you can acquire it from drops, which are earned for completing challenges and leveling up the Rocket Pass.
That means all you need to do once you’ve linked your Epic Games account to both games is load up Fortnite, and you should receive the Ripper car for free.
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen whether the Ripper will be coming to the Fortnite Shop. If anything changes and we get confirmation of this, we’ll let you know.
How to Change Car and Use Ripper in Fortnite

Once you’ve unlocked the Ripper in Fortnite, you’ll need to go to the ‘Locker’ tab and then navigate down to the ‘Sports Car’ option on the sidebar on the left. Here, you’ll have two options. Select ‘Sports Car’ and you’ll then want to select the vehicle box that appears in the loadout section of the screen.
Now all you need to do is select the Ripper and press A on Xbox, X on PlayStation, or A on Switch to confirm your choice. You can change the colour of the car by pressing X/Square/Y when selecting the ‘car’ loadout box. You can also change the wheels, trail, and decal should you want to finetune your new car’s look.
Once you’ve done all that, you can press in the right analog stick to save all the changes you’ve made to your loadout.
With these changes made, when you next jump into a sports car in a match, it will automatically change to look like the Ripper,.
