Super Hideaway burglar pleads guilty after sentencing for similar crimes in Kent County

The suspect in an extensive robbery at Super Hideaway Gaming in Holland has pled guilty to breaking and entering with intent following sentencing for similar crimes in Kent County.

Eric Cody, 39, is accused of breaking into Super Hideaway Gaming in November 2024 and stealing trading cards worth more than $15,000. Cody turned himself over to police following recovery of many of the stolen cards and approval of a warrant for his arrest. He faces a single count of breaking and entering with intent in Allegan County’s 48th Circuit Court, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Super Hideaway Gaming, owned by Aaron Mooneyhan, opened three years ago. The break-in coincided with a big weekend for the store, including a Magic: The Gathering Foundations Pre-Release, a Pokémon League Cup, and a Yu-Gi-Oh! Quarter Century Bonanza Release Celebration.

In May, while on bond for the charge in Allegan County, Cody pled guilty to breaking and entering with intent in Kent County. Before the plea, he was also charged with possession of burglar’s tools and as a fourth offense habitual offender.

Cody’s bond in Allegan County was revoked, and he was lodged in the Kent County Jail, from which he attended his plea hearing July 14. According to court records, he was sentenced in Kent County’s 17th Circuit Court on July 10, though a clerk was unable to immediately provide details.

Cody is scheduled for sentencing in Allegan County on Sept. 8 before Judge Matthew Antkoviak.
