A rescue operation is underway to save a dog stuck in dangerous mud off the coast.
The small, brown pooch got into trouble on a mudflat at Herne Bay beach this morning, near the Neptune Arm.

Pictures show onlookers nervously watching from the beach and the wall.
Rescue teams have been called to help rescue the pup.
Witnesses on social media say three boys have also gone out to try and assist.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for further information.
More on this as we have it.
