Marvel video games have, as of late, been pretty fantastic, with the majority of them going on to be critical and financial successes. Of course, there have been a few duds here and there, but, for the most part, Marvel fans have been extremely lucky when it comes to amazing video games set within its vibrant universe.
However, what is significantly more interesting are all the Marvel games that have flown under the radar. Fortunately, there are a handful, and, even better, there’s one that’s going to be completely free. This fantastic game, which was severely overlooked at launch, is the perfect way to pass the time while waiting for the upcoming and sadly delayed Marvel video games. For people who just love free games and those wanting a genuinely enjoyable RPG-like experience, this Marvel game is the perfect summer treat.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns Is Free On Prime Gaming
It Is Yours To Keep Forever
Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the underrated turn-based RPG centered around the titular snarky supernatural heroes, is completely free-to-keep over on Prime Gaming. This comes amidst a flurry of free games on Prime Gaming, at least for those who are Prime subscribers, which is perfect timing for anyone who has achieved the miraculous feat of conquering the backlog. To claim Marvel’s Midnight Suns, all players need to do is hop on over to Prime Gaming, log in to their Prime account (or subscribe to the service), and then hit the beautiful, big “Get Game” button.
Players have from July 8 to October 6, 2025, to claim Marvel’s Midnight Suns via the Prime Gaming promotion. Once that window closes, it won’t be available to claim anymore. Additionally, this offer is only available on Prime Gaming and to Prime subscribers. However, you could get a free trial of Prime, claim the game, and then cancel your subscription if you wanted to.
It is worth noting that you’ll be redeeming it through the Epic Game Store, meaning you’ll not only need to have an Epic account, but also to have linked it to your Prime account. Fortunately, this is all easily done via the Prime Gaming website, so it shouldn’t take those eager to start playing Midnight Suns too long. However, once you’ve claimed it and it has been successfully added to your Epic Games account, it will be yours forever, even after the offer has been pulled from Prime Gaming.

For those who are on the fence, or just know Marvel’s Midnight Suns from its somewhat negative reviews, I highly recommend picking it up anyway. Not only is it free, but Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a shockingly underrated game. It is one of the most approachable yet mechanically complex turn-based games that manages to make its heroes feel accurately powerful while also incorporating their varied abilities through its deckbuilding mechanics. Midnight Suns’ battles are effortlessly enjoyable, strategically diverse, and the huge roster ensures there’s plenty of variation.

The most controversial part of Midnight Suns is its social-sim elements. During those segments, the heroes gather together, join book clubs, make snarky comments, and show their more vulnerable side. This won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but these characters will grow on you, occasional cringey dialogue aside, and the story woven throughout is more than captivating enough to keep you entertained for its roughly 40-hour story. If you’re looking for one of the best turn-based games or just a solid Marvel experience, then I cannot recommend Marvel’s Midnight Suns enough.
