‘Don’t need another striker’ – Arsenal fans say same thing as Kai Havertz shows off new bulky physique

Viktor Gyokeres appears set to join Arsenal, but some fans are liking the look of Kai Havertz ahead of next season.

The German forward was sidelined with a hamstring injury for much of the 2024/25 season, although he returned for their final two games.

Havertz netted 15 goals in 36 appearances as Arsenal finished second in the Premier League for a third consecutive season.

He now looks set for more competition in the attack as talkSPORT understands the Gunners are finalising a move for Gyokeres.

The Sporting Lisbon star is on course to move to north London after scoring an incredible 97 goals across the past two seasons.

However, Havertz appears ready to battle for the starting role after seemingly undergoing an impressive physical transformation.

Arsenal fans on social media compared images of him in pre-season and when he first joined from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Sitting alongside William Saliba in both, Havertz looks to have gained more muscle in both his arms and legs.

And taking to X, one Arsenal supporter posted: “Arsenal don’t need another striker, Havertz is ready for the season.”

“And this is part of the reason why I think he starts at Old Trafford,” a second added as they look towards their first Premier League fixture.

A third said: “Boy became a man. What a unit.”

“Kai means business this year,” a fourth commented.

Havertz first joined Arsenal as an attacking midfielder but has moved into the striker role under Mikel Arteta.

Even though he finished as their top scorer in the league last season on nine goals, there is a sense the Gunners need more firepower.

That’s why they have remained interested in Gyokeres and look set to complete a deal worth around £63.5million this summer.

Noni Madueke is also heading to the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea in a £52m move, with Eberechi Eze another target.

Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga have already signed for Arsenal as they bid to win silverware next season.

But pre-season comes before then, with fixtures against AC Milan, Newcastle, Tottenham, Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao.
