Microsoft announces a multi-year partnership between Xbox and AMD for the next-generation of Xbox, including new consoles and handhelds.
First reported by Forbes, Acquire and Red Dunes Games have entered into a multi-year partnership, marking the first collaborative effort of its kind between a Japanese and Middle Eastern video game studio. Red Dunes Games CEO and creative director Sultan Darmaki shared a vision for a cross-cultural global effort where video games introduce new stories and innovations that travel beyond the limitations of geopolitical borders. Acquire CEO Takuma Endo continued the sentiment, noting that originality remains a key focus in gaming, and this new partnership aims to build an international future for the industry. Both studios confirmed that three early projects are already in development, with all titles planned for both PC and console releases. These teased games are set to be revealed across upcoming global events, including Tokyo Game Show 2025.
Projects Being Developed by Acquire and Red Dunes Games
- Project Tremor
- Project Umbra
- Project Shadowcar
The three games being developed by Acquire and Red Dunes Games all have placeholder code names, though the teams have confirmed some early details about each title. Project Tremor is said to feature “city-shaking kaiju battles,” while Project Umbra focuses on “dark fantasy hunts.” With Project Shadowcar teasing “a shadowy espionage thriller,” all three of the in-development projects appear to differ wildly in terms of potential story and gameplay. It is currently unknown how far along any of these collaborative titles may be, though the official partnership between Acquire and Red Dunes Games is still in the early stages. Whether any of the projects will offer an experience similar to games like Octopath Traveler remains to be seen, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed for a successful collaboration between the studios.
Gaming continues to expand globally, introducing new studios and projects to audiences internationally. Teams from the UAE and Saudi Arabia continue to prioritize gaming as a way to promote cross-cultural connections, and many are hoping to see this new partnership between Acquire and Red Dunes Games flourish in a way that is beneficial to both the studios and the players.
